Taiwan IPO Launches Design Patent Electronic Priority Document Exchange (PDX) Program with KIPO from July 1, 2023

Since July 1, 2023, the Electronic Patent Priority Document Exchange (PDX) program for design patents1 has been launched by Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) and Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). There will be no need to submit hardcopy of priority documents.
Currently TIPO, Japan Patent Office (JPO) and KIPO can exchange electronic priority documents. The PDX program for invention and utility patents between TIPO and JPO started from December 2, 2013. Since January 1, 2022, design patents from JPO were also included. The PDX program for invention and utility patents between TIPO and KIPO started from January 1, 2016. Design patents from KIPO have been recently included since July 1, 2023.
