【Updates】TIPO starts accepting applications for deferring substantive examination for design patent applications on July 1, 2018.

The design patent application must meet the following requirements:

• The TIPO has not issued either an Office action or a notice of allowance.
• A request for division has not been filed.
• The request for deferring substantive examination shall be filed at the time of filing the application or within 1 year after filing the application. If a priority is claimed, the calculation of the time period shall be on the basis of the priority date.
