Final Victory for Wisdom’s Client in Criminal Trade Secret Infringement Case

Date: 19 October, 2026

Wisdom has secured a comprehensive victory for a Japanese client in a criminal trade secret infringement case against two Taiwanese manufacturers and their responsible person.

During the term of an OEM contract, the defendants misappropriated the client’s trade secrets, in breach of their non-disclosure agreement, and used them without authorization to manufacture and sell machinery to third parties. Following the client’s criminal complaint, Wisdom successfully persuaded the prosecutor to conduct a search and seizure operation, which yielded critical evidence. The defendants were subsequently indicted in August 2023.

The defendants were convicted by the Taichung District Court (2023 Zhi Su Zi No. 13 Criminal Judgment). The conviction was further upheld by the Intellectual Property and Commercial Court (2024 Xing Zhi Shang Zhong Su Zi No. 8 Criminal Judgment). On July 22, 2026, the Supreme Court dismissed the defendants’ final appeal (2026 Tai Shang Zi No. 2471 Criminal Judgment), rendering the convictions final and safeguarding the client’s core technology and interests.
