Wisdom Patent Team General Manager Kai Furihata has passed the Japan Patent Bar Examination in November 2018!

Kai is a Japanese and moved to Taiwan to work full time in Wisdom. He handled patent and trademark applications and prosecutions in Japan, Taiwan and China while studying and preparing for the Japan Patent Bar Examination. It was really difficult but Kai is passionate about the patent and trademark laws in his home country, Japan. Kai will become a qualified Japan Patent Attorney after completing the training in 2019.

In order to become a patent attorney in Japan, it is necessary to take and pass the Patent Bar Examination in Japan. This year, 3587 individuals took the Japan Patent Bar Examination and only 260 individuals of those taking the exam passed it. The pass rate is 7.2%. The Japan Patent Bar Exam is one of the patent bar exams with the lowest pass rate around the world.
