George Huang and Kai Furihata were invited as speaker at the 68th Intellectual Property Seminar held by Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association

Wisdom Director George J. H. Huang (Attorney at Law/Patent Attorney) and Head of Patent Department Kai Furihata (Japan Patent Attorney) were invited to share “Brand Protection Strategies from Recent Intellectual Property Decisions and Issues” at the 68th Intellectual Property Seminar on 23 December, 2020. The seminar was organized by Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association (日台交流協會).
George and Kai introduced examples of counterfeits in Taiwan, recommended anticounterfeiting actions adopted by brand owners, and how to remove a counterfeit from popular online shopping platforms (e.g. Shopee and Ruten).
By mentioning notable trademark bad faith filing court decisions in Taiwan, they also provided insights on how to develop brand protection strategies and effective measures to prevent trademark squatting in Taiwan.
